The Vizio GV42LF HDTV is Vizio’s latest LCD offering Full HD (1080p) at 42-inches, just like it’s bigger brother, the 47-inch GV47LF, it’s very popular with customers giving them a quality HDTV at the highest resolution available at a very reasonable price.
LCD HDTVs tend to cost more than their plasma alternative, and full HD / 1080p sets cost even more, and at a large screen size such as 42-inches they can cost a lot of money, but with the Vizio GV42LF, you can get the same quality Full HD LCD at a much cheaper price of around $1399 or less (check below). The GV42LF HDTV has a 1920×1080 pixel resolution, 500 cd/m2 brightness, 1800:1 Dynamic contrast ratio, 8ms response time. Inputs include 2x HDMI, 2x component, composite, PC VGA input and analog and digital output. The Vizio GV42LF has received great reviews from owners of the set, while Cnet has taken a professional look saying, we found a lot to like about the GV42LF’s picture, especially considering its price: it can deliver a relatively deep black, its color after adjustment isn’t bad, and it makes an excellent computer monitor.
One of the first things we noticed was the Vizio’s solid black-level performance, which caused black areas like the letterbox bars and Keanu Reeves’ overcoat to appear relatively dark–darker than the Westinghouse, although not quite as dark as the Pioneer.
