LED backlit LCD HDTVs have become more and more common over the last year, especially with Samsung’s vast LED HDTV range.

But until now this LED backlit technology have remained exclusively in large HDTVs and portable devices such as laptops and netbooks. They are favored over standard CCFL backlights as they use less power and provide better colors. Read more

Vizio isn’t just sitting back letting the likes of Sony, Samsung and others have all the fun with the “Internet Connected” / Widget technology, and are getting in on the action as well in the latest HDTV models.

Vizio have announced three new “Connected HDTVs” which feature widget functionality, built in 802.11n wireless networking, an advanced sliding qwerty bluetooth remote. Read more

Vizio have announced their line of Eco HD LCD HDTVs, which as you probably guessed consume less energy than other HDTVs. The Vizio EcoHD series exceed all Energy Star 3.0 requirements by 25%.

Saving money while enjoying HD content, for example the 22-inch and 19-inch-class EcoHD models use less energy than a 60w light bulb. Read more

Having just updated their XVT series for 2009, Vizio have also launched the Vizio VL Series and the Vizio VT Series of Full HD 1080p LCD HDTVs. All models in the two series have a 1080p LCD panel with 120Hz Smooth Motion II technology. Read more

Vizio just updated the XVT series for 09 with six new models. The top of the line, and largest is the 55-inch Vizio VF551XVT. Not only is the Vizio VF551XVT1A large, it’s also the first Vizio to used LED backlighting, and featured local LED dimming for a very impressive dynamic contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. Read more

Vizio has just announced a huge update to their popular Vizio XVT series of LCD HDTVs. Adding five new models to their XVT series, and adding features such as 240Hz refresh, LED backlighting, and VIZIO’s Smooth Motion II technology. Read more

Vizio have announced a new 55-inch 1080p LCD HDTV, the Vizio VF550XVT, with 120Hz Smooth Motion technology. The VF550XVT1A is part of the Vizio XVT Series.
