Denon DVD-2930 and DVD-3930
Denon are aiming their DVD-2930 and DVD-3930 upconverting DVD players at the older market for the millions of people with many “old” DVDs. They claim that their upscaling technology can provide a picture as good as or better than HD format.
The DVD-2930 and DVD-3930 uses technology first used on cruise missiles to improve images quality.
Denon are hoping that people with their new HDTV sets and many old DVD’s will want to get the best out of their previous purchase DVD and their HDTV buy purchasing one of their DVD players rather than diving into the HD-DVD / Blu-ray war. It makes sense to me as many of us have loads of DVDs, and will want the best picture we can get. It’s hard to believe that they can output better quality than a 1080p movie, but im sure it can do a great job at upscalling to 720p.
