The Sony Z5100 series, also known as the Sony Z Series is just one step down from the top of the range Sony XBR9 series. Much like the XBR9, the Sony Bravia Z series features very impressive Internet connectivity, by combining Sony’s Bravia Internet Video link inside the HDTVs with widgets the LCD HDTV can deliver real time information such as news and weather, and can also stream live Internet video streams.
The Sony Bravia Z5100 series consists of three large Full HD / 1080p LCD HDTVs, the 40-inch Sony KDL-40Z5100, 46-inch Sony KDL-46Z5100 and the 52-Inch Sony KDL-40Z5100. With narrow bezels and a thin cabinet depths the Bravia Z series shows off a great design.
All model sizes feature the new faster Motionflow 240Hz high frame rate technology for sharp images during high motion scenes, and the new and improved Bravia Engine 3, which provides image enhancements. Other features include 24p True Cinema, XrossMediaBar (XMB) 3D menu, Internet powered TV Guide, 4x HDMI 1.3 inputs, Bravia Sync / Link, PC VGA input, and component inputs. A USB 2.0 port can be used to view photos, or play back music or videos from a USB storage device.
Expect to find the new Sony Z series in stores during Spring 2009. Prices are yet to be announced.
