The 52-inch Sony KDL-52XBR7 is from Sony’s highend XRB7 range of LCD HDTVs, where this 52-inch model is the middle sized version.
Once a feature found only on the very highend models, 120Hz refresh rate technology is now starting to appear on many models now available. Sony has taken this technology one step further, and have developed “MotionFlow 240Hz” which is featured on the Sony KDL-52XBR7. This technology adds twice the amount of extra frames than before, smoothing out any annoying judder, and displaying 240 frame per second of crisp frames, keeping the images sharp and detailed during fast moving scenes, eliminating motion blur.
As well as this new technology, the Sony Bravia KDL-52XBR7 features a full HD / 1080p LCD screen, which has a very high dynamic contrast ratio of 80,000:1 delivering deep blacks and vibrant colors. 24p True Cinema is fully supported for native blu-ray fps playback, and is compatible with the new MotionFlow technology for the smoothest, and sharpest playback.
Connectivity is good on the great looking Sony KDL-52XBR7 with 4x HDMI 1.3 inputs, 2x component and PC VGA inputs, all accepting full 1080 HD signals. A Digital Media Port and USB 2.0 inputs make for easy multimedia connectivity, and 3D graphics provide great HD photo viewing. Cnet gave the KDL-52XBR7 a 4/5 rating, and said, the 240Hz Sony KDL-52XBR7 breaks new refresh rate ground, but for most buyers the extra Hz won’t be worth the high price. Deep black levels for a non-LED-based LCD TV, and accurate color temperature and color decoding.
