Sony KDL-32V2500 Reviewed

sony-kdl-32v2500.jpgSony’s Bravia HDTV have always been popular with buyers, especially in the 32-inch size, so the new Sony KDL-32V2500 should be a very popular LCD given it’s great looks and new improvements. The Sony Bravia KDL-32V2500 to quote it’s full name is a 32-inch LCD upgrade from the popular V series.

The KDL-32V2500 looks great with it’s black and silver finish around the thin frame and has great features also, including 3x HDMI as apposed to two, component, 2x scart and the usual other inputs. The 1366 x 768 native resolution supports both 720p and 1080i HD formats and features a dynamic back light which adjusts during scenes for optimal images giving the KDL-32V2500 a contrast ratio of 5000:1.

Our test movie proves the improved Dynamic Contrast system earns its keep. Darker scenes, such as the explosive space battles, have sturdy black levels and good detailing. This is more convincing than the performance of V-series predecessors, especially as the improved black levels also boost the colours.

The Sony Bravia KDL-32V500 is one of the best 32-inch LCD TVs out there for our money, and a great place to start if you’re thinking of upgrading to an HDTV.
