The highend Sony HX900 series are the latest range for 2010 and will be available in the summer. It will be available in two sizes as the 46-inch Sony XBR-46HX900 and the 52-inch Sony XBR-52HX900.
Unlike the new Sony LX900 series which are LED side lit, the Sony HX900 series feature Intelligent Dynamic LED backlight formed from a full array of LEDs. This can provide even better contrasts as it can dim the backlight by area, providing perfect blacks in some areas, but bright vivid colors in other areas at the same time.
Both models are 3D ready, and work with Sony active shutter glasses and transmitter to create the high quality 3D effect.
Other features include Bravia Engine 3 with intelligent image enhancer, OptiContrast LCD panel (1080p) which improves contrast and reduces reflections, Bravia Internet video and widgets.
Both the Sony 46HX900 and 52HX900 feature Motionflow Pro 240Hz frame rate to eliminate motion blur. There are 4x HDMI inputs, component, composite and PC VGA input. USB and DLNA media playback is also supported, along with being WiFi ready.
Both the XBR-46HX900 and XBR-52HX900 will be available this summer. In Europe they lose the XRB part of their name and are known as the Sony 46HX900 (46-inch) and the Sony 52HX900 (52-inch).
