The latest in the Sony W Series is the Sony Bravia W5500 series, which is available in a wider size range, from 32-inches to 52-inches, rather than starting at the usual 40-inches. The Sony W5500 series is available as the following models, the 32-inch Sony KDL-32W5500, 37-inch KDL-37W5500, 40-inch KDL-40W5500, 46-inch KDL-46W5500, and the largest, 52-inch KDL-52W5500.
The Sony W5500 series features slim and, updated “draw the line” design styling, for a clean, smart and stylish design with deep piano black finish. The W5500 is also accented by a subtle half mirror ornament.
Full HD / 1080p LCD panel offers the highest HD format, with a 100,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, Bravia Engine 3, and Motionflow 100Hz with Image Blur Reduction technology for sharp, clear images during fast moving scenes, without image judder. Live Colour and Advanced Contrast Enhancer, along with Bravia Engine 3 enhanced the image quality to deliver the very best colour and contrast.
Other features include special Eco settings and Light sensor to automatically adjust screen brightness according to room light levels to save energy and deliver the best image. The USB media players allows playback of media via the USB port, including mp3s, photos and videos. While DLNA allows network connection to other computers to allow playback of media, including the ability to select, play and pause using the HDTVs remote control.
The new Sony AppliCast feature allows online features on the Sony W5500 HDTVs without a PC. These “widgets” can be displayed while watching any content, with features such as Alarm, World Clock, Picture Frame Online and more.
Inputs include 4x HDMI 1.3 inputs, PC VGA and 2x component.
