The Sony Bravia V series has always been a popular range, as it offers both very nice HDTV specifications, and also an attractive price tag. The new Sony V5500 series for 2009 is no different in this respect.
The Sony Bravia V5500 series features a new version of the “Draw the line” styling concept for a very attractive piano black gloss finish with a subtle mirror accent.
Available in a wide range of five sizes, from the 32-inch Sony KDL-40V5500 to the 52-inch Sony KDL-52V5500. The other Sony V5500 models are the 37-inch KDL-37V5500, 40-inch KDL-40V5500, and the 46-inch KDL-46V5500.
All of the Sony V5500 models feature a Full HD / 1080p LCD panel with a 60,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and the very latest Bravia Engine 3 processing. This along with Live Colour and ACE (advanced contrast enhancer) optimises and enhances the image signal to deliver the best image quality.
The Sony V5500 series features an Ethernet port for DLNA support to view and stream media from a networked PC, and also a new AppliCast feature which can display real time information and small applications on the HDTV via on screen widgets.
Other features includes 24p True Cinema support, 4x HDMI 1.3 inputs, and an integrated MPEG 4 AVC HD tuner. The Sony V5500 series will be available in March 2009.
