Sharp LC-46D62U Review

Sharps sleak looking 46-inch LCD leader the Sharp LC-46D62U has some very impressive specifications including a 10,000:1 contrast ratio has been reviewed by the guys over at Cnet.
This 46-inch, 1080p, flat-panel LCD reproduced a deeper color of black–and thus a better contrast ratio–than any non-CRT HDTV we’ve ever tested, whether plasma, LCD, or rear-projection. The other aspects of its picture quality were equally impressive, with one exception: color temperature accuracy. If not for that issue, it would have scored our highest honor, but don’t get us wrong: the Sharp LC-46D62U is one of the most impressive LCD televisions we’ve ever seen, especially with a price that’s seriously competitive compared to those of other high-end 1080p LCDs.
The 46-inch Sharp LC-46D62U has 1080p native resolution, the highest available today, meaning that its 1,920×1,080 pixels are capable of resolving every detail of a 1080i or 1080p source. All sources, whether they’re high-def, DVD, standard-def, or arrive from a computer, are scaled to fit the pixels.
The picture quality of the Sharp LC-46D62U is among the best we’ve ever seen in an LCD, period. It can achieve deeper black levels than any display we’ve tested so far, and it’s as detailed as we’d expect from any 1080p display. Where it falls short, however, is in color accuracy; its overly blue color-temperature presets cause its overall performance to rate a notch below the best LCDs we’ve tested as of this writing, namely the 40-inch and 46-inch KDL-XBR2 models from Sony.
With the deepest blacks we’ve seen yet, the picture quality of the high-end Sharp LC46D62U is among the best you can get from an LCD.
