ViewSonic N3235w Review

ViewSonic N3235wThe ViewSonic N3235w is a great budget choice for most users but the enthusiast might find the connections somewhat limiting. The list price for the 32-inch N3235w is $650 which you can’t complain about for it’s screen size and quality, but they have cut some corners with connectivity. The ViewSonic N3235w has gone the “now” look with the black glossy frame and features a 1,360×768 resolution which supports 720p and 1080i and has an on board digital tuner. Read more

ViewSonic N3751w Review

ViewSonic N3751wThe ViewSonic N3751w is a 37-inch LCD HDTV that has some great features and comes in at a great price. The N3751w will currently cost you just over $1000, comes with three HDMI inputs, component and PC VGA inputs. Having three HDMI inputs is a real advatnage for the future. This is probably one of the reasons ViewSonic call the N3751w “future proof”, although it does not feature the full 1080p resolution. PcMag have taken a look at the N3751 and say the N3751w’s native resolution is 1,366 by 768 pixels, and PC sources using the TV’s VGA input or HDMI input were able to use the near 1:1 resolution of 1,360 by 768 pixels that resulted in crisp imagery without any signs of image overscan.

Viewsonic n2060w Review

n2060wThe Viewsonic n2060w is a 20-inch LCD which can be used as a HDTV or as a computer monitor in the home or office. This is an attractive buy for some people who are not looking for a monster sized TV, and would also like to use it for the computer. TrustedReviews have a review of the n2060w, saying the specification list is impressive. Perhaps its greatest selling point is its HD Readiness as announced by the logo located at the bottom right hand corner of the bezel. The native resolution of 1,366 x 768 is enough for 720p HD material and it’s HDCP compliant via an HDMI port. There’s a VGA port too, along with Component input, composite, S-Video and SCART. There’s also a built in TV Tuner but it’s just an analogue one, not digital. There’s no DVI though, which indicates that it’s intended more as an AV device rather than a regular PC monitor though it can be used as one if you wish.

ViewSonic N3751w & N4251w LCDs

N3751w N4251wViewSonic have increased their “future proof” line of HDTVs by adding some larger models. The 37-inch N3751w and the 42-inch N4251w. Both include an integrated digital (ATSC) tuner and the usual input of digital connections.

The ViewSonic N3751w & N4251w have a resolution of 1366×768 (which I would not call future proof, as it does not support the full 1080p resolutions), 8 millisecond response times and a contrast ratio of 1000:1. Inputs include HDMI, VGA, component, and SPDIF output for connection to external sound system. This range offers a solid HDTV at a very reasonable price.

Viewsonic N4060W 40-Inch HDTV

Viewsonic N4060W

The 40″ wide aspect ratio of the N4060W allows you to watch both movies and TV programs in widescreen aspect ratios. The display is also very bright with a 500 nits typical brightness. The gray-to-gray response time of the TV is an excellent 8ms and the contrast ratio is also very good at 1000:1. The native resolution of the display is 1360 x 768, making it a true HD display, though PC users that are used to the much higher resolutions of straight PC displays will notice a significant difference in picture quality. The viewing angles are 170 degrees by 170 degrees.

The Viewsonic N4060W 40″ Widescreen HDTV has a wealth of rear connectivity options. There are two S-Video connectors with the associated RCA ins for audio and video. ViewSonic N3260W Review

ViewSonic N3260WThe N3260W produced a very good picture with a high definition TV source. Skin tones were very good and lifelike. Color saturation was a good as any TV I have seen. Detail was also of high quality. The picture in general was very lifelike and colors rendered were very realistic to nature. The VS – like all good displays – quickly shows the differences in quality of different HDTV broadcasts. After watching really good broadcasts, the picture quality of lesser broadcasts came across as disappointing. I found myself scanning the high definition channels for high-quality broadcasts which would show HD at its best. It was not always easy to find good broadcasts. To be seen at its best HD needs to have brightly-colored subjects that are well lit and have a lot of detail. Dark scenes reduce picture quality substantially. Most stores run loops of well-chosen video to show off their displays.

I should start off saying that I am both pleased and surprised by this TV. It produces a very good picture on both regular and high definition sources. It has a high value content. Its price of $1300 is at least four hundred dollars less than sets that are as good or slightly better in performance, and it is more heavily discounted than the name brands. Read more
