Samsung LE40R73BDThe Samsung LE40R73BD is the 40-inch LCD from the R73 subsection of the great R7 range from Samsung.

The LE40R73BD has an impressive 5000:1 contrast ratio, 1366×768 resolution, a very snappy 8ms response time, and 178°/178° viewing angle. The LE40R73BD features DNIeâ„¢ (Digital Natural Image engine), Samsung LCD TVs revolutionary technology, offers digital perfection in the form of crystal clear images in which even the smallest details are captured. Images appear as close to real life as they can possibly be.

Among the numerous features, the LE40R73BD has the screen size control, the teletext and Picture-in-Picture-function. There is also a very complete connectivity including a HDMi-input and a PC-input.

Samsung 70-Inch LCD Record

Samsung 70-Inch LCDAt 70 inches, the display is aimed at the consumer HDTV (high-definition television) market, but it will likely become available in the business market at an early stage. According to Samsung, the screen is five inches larger than any current one. The company is unveiling the 70-incher at this week’s International Meeting on Information Displays 2006 in Daegu, Korea.

The screen offers a conical viewing angle of 180 degrees. The video signal is reproduced at 120Hz, compared with the 60Hz offered by conventional high-definition LCD (liquid crystal display) panels, enabling “rapidly moving video images to be reproduced with crystal clarity,” the company said Monday.

Samsung plans to begin mass production of the new 70-inch LCD during the first half of 2007. With the introduction of the 70-inch LCD, the company will be in a position to compete head-to-head with plasma and projection TV makers.

Samsung 460PXn & 400PXn MagicNet LCDs with built-in XP

The 40-inch SyncMasterâ„¢ 400PXn and the 46-inch SyncMaster 460PXn utilize Samsung’s MagicNet software and are designed for use in corporate and commercial digital signage applications. The MagicNet software enables users to control content across a number of displays from a remote location using a single computer, eliminating the need for a computer with every screen thereby resulting in a greater cost savings for the network operator.

Upgrades to the 2006 MagicNet enabled displays include an embedded Windows XP operating system, high definition resolution, portrait or landscape orientation modes, and video wall support up to 4×4 displays, all supported by MagicNet. These upgrades extend the capabilities of the displays with more choices for end-users while maintaining ease of use and simplifying the installation process. MagicNet enabled displays are appropriate for use in airports, malls, restaurants and commercial buildings.

Samsung SyncMaster 740BX And 940BX LCD Displays

Samsung has unveiled three new LCD displays. Two of the new LCD displays are catered towards the commercial and business markets. The new SyncMaster 740BX and 940BX are 17” and 19” LCD monitors, respectively. The 740BX and 940BX are virtually identical with the exception of size. Specifications of the 740BX and 940BX include a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 5ms response time and 1280×1024 resolution. Both monitors have 15pin D-sub and DVI connections.

A height adjustable pivot and swivel capable stand is used on the 740BX and 940BX, though it doesn’t support rotating features. The LCD is also compatible with VESA 75mm wall mounts too.

In addition to the SyncMaster 740BX and 940BX announcements Samsung also has a new 21” LCD monitor. The new 215TW sports a 1680×1050 resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio and 8ms response time. Multiple video inputs are supported such as DVI, 15pin D-sub, S-video, composite and component video inputs. Picture-In-Picture and Picture-By-Picture are also supported by the 215TW, allowing users to view two video sources at the same time. The 215TW is also HDTV-ready too, though it doesn’t say if it is HDCP compliant.

You may have to work you way through the vast amount of menu’s and tone down the exaggerated color settings to reach the best settings, but it’s well work the time as you can obtain a great picture.

Samsung’s 32R74 is an undeniable bargain that’s better looking with more features and superior performance than most screens at this price. Read more

Samsung HP-S4253 Review

hp-s4253The Samsung HP-S4253 with a resolution of 1,024 x 768 pixels and the power of a 13-bit processing engine make for a clear and bright display. A 10,000:1 contrast ratio, among the highest in the HDTV industry, also deserves much of the credit for this unit’s excellent picture quality.

The HP-S4253, a 42-inch plasma TV, is among the first to offer these latest improvements to picture quality, and the model’s many features make it convenient to use as well as fun to watch.

Samsung’s Gen-5 HD Plasma TV offers the latest video technology at a competitive price. Beyond image quality, features like split-screen and picture-in-picture make the HP-S4253 easy to recommend.
