Pioneer PDP-5000EX Review
The Pioneer PDP-5000EX is a 50-inch plasma with a true 1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution. Trusted reviews have reviewed the PDP-5000EX and write the following, the 5000EX is the first 50in plasma ever with a genuine 1,920 x 1,080 ‘Full HD’ pixel count. No fancy pixel-‘creating’ processing, no chicanery with shared electrodes and the like (a la Fujitsu/Hitachi’s Alternate Lighting of Surfaces technology) – just 2,073,600 real pixels.
HD picture quality is nothing short of stunning in all kinds of ways – though arguably the single greatest impact comes from its phenomenal sharpness and clarity, which rivals the very best available from the LCD world, and outdoes anything previously seen from a 50in plasma. Naturally this helps the 5000EX deliver awesome results with highly detailed Xbox 360 games like Test Drive Unlimited, Read more

Panasonic Viera TH-50PX600 Review
As a jumping off point for an assessment of the TH-50PX600′s other features, let’s go over the things that make the PX600 range Panasonic’s current flagship ahead of the its PX60 models. One we’ve actually already covered; the SD card slot. Another is the provision on the PX600s of full picture in picture facilities. And the last one is a beefed up audio system that replaces the standard speakers of the PX60s with units equipped with twin passive radiator woofers to boost bass output and deliver more clarity and raw power.
Naturally the 50PX600 is HD Ready, with a native resolution of 1,366 x 768, while other specs of interest include a really remarkably high 10000:1 claimed contrast ratio, and a purported 29 billion colour count achieved via some fancy 11.5-bit video processing.
As revealed by the CI slot mentioned earlier, the 50PX600 has a built-in digital tuner. And this is backed up by 7-day electronic programme guide support. Read more

Pioneer Elite Pro-FHD1 50-Inch Plasma
Pioneer’s Elite® PureVisionâ„¢ PRO-FHD1: Pioneer states that viewing a 1080p/24fps film on this HDTV gives a 3D effect. An in-built high precision upscaler converts lower resolution signals to 1080p, which they say virtually eliminates the interlacing motion artifacts often seen on displays.
“The display also relies on Pioneer’s many proprietary technologies including deep encased cell structure, crystal emissive layer and improved phosphors to create the sharpest, brightest images with excellent color accuracy.”
There’s good reason for all that sharpitude, because Pioneer boasts this HDTV has the world’s smallest plasma pixels, measuring just .576 millimeters across.
