Pioneer PRO-940HD Review
The Pioneer Elite PRO-940HD PureVision plasma HDTV is a 42-inch which does not come cheap, but what else would you expect from an “Elite” line?. The PRO-940HD has excellent picture quality and superb multimedia file support along with great colors. PcMag have taken a close look at the PRO-940HD and say, An Ethernet port on the rear of the PRO-940HD allows for easy access and streaming of multimedia files stored on a local network. After configuring my network settings within the TV’s integrated Home Media Gallery software, I selected my local NAS from a list of found storage devices and began enjoying my multimedia collection immediately.
Looking at the HD DVD version of the HQV test, I found the PRO-940HD exceptionally good at noise reduction and maintaining detail. Deinterlaced 1080i video was especially smooth, with no signs of jagged edges.
If you want the best and are willing to pay for it, the Pioneer Elite PRO-940HD plasma television is an easy decision. Its good image quality and attractive styling are to be expected at this price point, but I was pleasantly surprised at the capable, easy-to-use multimedia features. This Pioneer TV isn’t for everyone, and value models such as the Vizio VP42 prove that good plasma quality doesn’t have to cost thousands, but there are few 42-inch HDTVs in the world that can offer the near-perfect and pleasing picture quality of the PRO-940HD.
