As we reported many months ago, Philips have two new Philips Aurea II models coming our way in the form of the 42-inch Philips 42PFL9903D, and 37-inch 37PFL9903D.
The Aurea was the top of the line Ambilight technology, which has now been improved even more in the form of the Aurea II. For those of you who don’t know, the Aurea is as advanced lighting technology, which looks at the colours shown on the screen, and displays them on the transparent frame, and surround wall. Not only does this create an amazing light show, but also helps to reduce eye strain and make viewing more immersive.
The Philips 42PFL9903D / Aurea II now as a thinner frame, with nicer curved corners and a new design. The “Active Frame” has been reduced in size and made to perform better, with improved seamless transition from the screen to the frame and surrounding wall.
The 1080p LCD in the Philips 42PFL9903 has a 30,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and has the accolade of the “world’s fastest LCD” with a speedy response time of just 2ms. This leads to better image handling during fast motion scenes. Perfect Pixel HD engine can process 500 million pixels per second to improve and enhance the image quality.
The Philips 42PFL9903D also features 17-bit RGB color processing, 100Hz picture processing, DLNA and four HDMI 1.3 inputs.
