Well here it is, the 42-inch Philips 42PFL9900D 1080p Ambilight LCD HDTV that has been long rumored on the internet. The 42PFL9900D has been a hoped for rumor for some time now, but has never been confirmed or announced officially, but now a specs sheet has been leaked from Philips showing the 42PFL9900D.
The design of the Philips 42PFL9900D is completely new, featuring the full Ambilight surround blended directly into the stunning looking curved frame creating a unique look among the currently popular piano black HDTVs.
The specifications of the 42PFL9900D are also very impressive, powered by Philips’ Perfect Pixel HD engine, native 1080p (1920x1080p) resolution with fast 100Hz refresh rate to reduce motion blur, a brightness of 550cd/m2, a contrast ration of 1200:1 (8000:1 dynamic) and 176 degree viewing angle.
There is an internal digital tuner, a nice selection of three HDMI inputs (no mention if HDMI 1.3, but we assume as much), component, 2x scart, digital audio out and a USB connection for jpg photo viewing and mp3 playback.
