Panasonic TH-42PX70 Reviewed

Panasonic TH-42PX70While some makers have been dropping plasmas over LCD, Panasonic have remained true to the plasma Technology. The Panasonic TH-42PX70 is a 42-inch plasma screen with an attractive design and an attractive price tag. The TH-42PX70 is available as the TH-42PX70PED with the pedestal stand, and as the TH-42PX70CAB with cabinet.

The Panasonic TH-42PX70 features a 1024 x 768 pixel resolution with a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, and have a semi-black gloss stylish finish and hidden speakers underneath the set. Around the back there are two HDMI inputs, which should be more than enough for most people, two RGB scarts for your non HD equipment, and one component input. Cnet UK have taken a look at the Panasonic Viera TH-42PX70 and say, we hooked up our HD-DVD player to the TH42PX70, and the good news is that whatever your HD source, the Panasonic does an awesome job of displaying it.

Overall, we liked the Panasonic and it performs better overall than the Hitachi P42T01. It’s fair to say this isn’t a quantum leap over the previous range, but it’s still generally a worthwhile improvement, especially in terms of usability. Ultimately, strong HD performance and good overall colour mean this is a good choice if you like movies.

If you are looking for the same HDTV, but a little bigger check out the 50-inch Panasonic TH-50PX70, or smaller, the 37-inch Panasonic TH-37PX70.
