The Panasonic VIERA TC-P54G10 to call it by it’s full name features the very latest Neo PDP plasma panel to deliver the very best in image quality. The Neo PDP panel deliver sharp, high quality images with deep blacks, bright colors and all at a very low power consumption.
As you would expect from a large, highend HDTV the Panasonic TC-P54G10 features a Full HD / 1080p resolution, supports 24p, and also combines this with a 480Hz processor to bring smooth fluid motion without judder. A very fast 600Hz sub-field drive delivers frames at a very fast rate to eliminate image blur during fast moving scenes, which is great for sports and high action movie scenes.
A key feature of the Neo PDP is it’s very high contrast ratio of 40,000:1 native, and 2,000,000:1 dynamic which gives it the ability to show very deep true blacks, rather than washed out grays, along with very bright colors. Contrast ratio is one of the most important factors in good image quality, and this along with the other technology in the Panasonic TC-P54G10 give it a great advantage over many other HDTVs.
It also boast a very wide viewing angle, so you get a great view anywhere in the room, along with a special AR (Anti-reflective) filter, which eliminates annoying light reflections on the HDTV.
There is also a dedicated game mode, and a SD memory card slot on the Panasonic TC-P54G10 which can playback media files including HD H.264 files. There are 3x HDMI inputs and a PC VGA input.
Update: Since writing this post, Cnet have reviewed the Panasonic TC-P54G10 giving it a very high four of of five “excellent” rating. Saying it have excellent black level performance, shadow detail, accurate primary colors, great color saturation, and uses less power than most plasmas. With very high image quality, and great features, you get very good value for money.
