2009 Panasonic HDTV Lineup

Panasonic has been busy at CES announcing many new HDTVs. Growing the Panasonic VIERA range from five LCD models to twelve, over a range of different sizes.

I will get right down to it an run down the new ranges. On the LCD side of things there are three new ranges, the Panasonic VIERA G1, VIERA S1, and the VIERA X1. Even more on the plasma side with five new ranges, the Panasonic Z1 Series, V10 Series, G10 Series, S1 Series and the X1 Series.

Panasonic G1 Series

The top of the line LCD HDTV is the Panasonic Viera G1 series. Which features a 1080p LCD panel available as the 37-inch Panasonic TC-L37G1, and the 720p Panasonic TC-L32G1. Both feature 120Hz Motion Picture Pro3 technology for sharp images during fast motion scenes. The IPS LCD panel offers a 178 degree viewing angle, 20,000:1 contrast ratio, 3 HDMI inputs, swivel base, and SD card reader.

Panasonic S1 Series

The Panasonic Viera S1 Series consists of  the 32-inch Panasonic TC-L32S1 and the 37-inch Panasonic TC-L37S1, both of which have a 1080p Full HD resolution. With an IPS Alpha panel, Motion Focus technology and Viera Image viewer.  There is a 15,000:1 contrast ratio, three HDMI inputs, a dedicated Game mode, and PC Input.

Panasonic X1 Series

The Panasonic X1 Series now adds the 19-inch model, the Panasonic TC-L19X1 to the line up. Along with the other exsisting models. With an iPod entertainment Kit allowing users to enjoy their music and videos on the screen.  With a dedicated game mode, 12,000:1 contrast ratio and three HDMI inputs.

Panasonic Z1 Series | Panasonic TC-54Z1

The Panasonic Z1 Series kicks off the first of the plasma HDTVs. The Panasonic Viera Z1 Series is the top of the line flag ship range. Measuring just one inch thick and featuring Wireless HD connectivity, for a sleek and mess free HDTV.  The Panasonic Z1 range also features VIERA CAST for streaming HD movie rentals.

The Neo PDP design produces brighter images with deeper blacks and a contrast ratio of 40,000:1, on a 1080p panel. A 600Hz sub-field Drive provides smooth and sharp playback, and playback AVCHD videos from SD memory cards. Available in one size, as the 54-inch Panasonic TC-54Z1.

Panasonic V10 Series

The Panasonic Viera V10 series is just 2-inches thick, and includes built in tuners. With a 1080p plasma panel (Neo PDP) offering a 40,000:1 contrast ratio, 600Hz Drive, and full THX display certification.  The Panasonic V10′s are support Viera cast web streaming.  Available in four sizes, from 50-inch to 65-inch.  The 50-inch one sheet of glass design will be available in May 09, while the others will be available in the summer 09.

Panasonic G10 Series

The Panasonic Viera G10 plasma series also features Viera cast web streaming, THX certified Display, and AVCHD playback from SD cards.  With a Neo PDP design, the Panasonic G10 offers improved contrast and colors, delivering a 40,000:1 contrast ratio on the 1080p panel, with 600Hz sub-field drive.

The G10 series will be available in a 54-inch, 50-inch , 46-inch , and 42-inch screen size. The 42-inch, 46-inch and 50-inch HDTVs will be available in March 2009, while the 54-inch model will be available in May 2009.

Panasonic S1 Series Plasma

The Panasonic Viera S1 plasma series offers a THX certified Neo PDP design Infinite Black panel, with a full 1080p HD, and a native 40,000:1 contrast ratio.  Other features include 600Hz frame rate, VIERA Image Viewer and game mode. With six sizes from 65-inches to 42-inches.  The 42-inch, 46-inch, and 50-inch will be available in March 2009, and the 54-inch in the summer of 2009.
