Panasonic DMR-EX77 Reviewed

Panasonic DMR-EX77The Pansonic DMR-EX77 HDD/DVD Recorder is an interesting piece of equipment. Not only is it a HDD/DVD Recorder, it is also a HD 1080i/p upscaller which not only upscalls DVDs, but also your TV / video input images that it is connected to. For example it can be used to record and upscale from your Cable / sky / TiVo box. The DMR-EX77 has a 160gb hard disk which can store recorded programs, as well as also recording to DVD plus DVD play back, as well as featuring a built in digital tuner. The DMR-EX77 can output 720p / 1080i and 1080p via HDMI, and also has component and digital audio out. TrustedReviews have checked out the Panasonic DMR-EX77 and say, recordings can be made in one of four quality presets – XP (best), SP, LP and EP, which affects how much recording time is available. There’s also a Flexible Recording mode that fits a timer recording or copied programme into the remaining space on a disc in the best possible quality.

Upscaled DVD pictures look fantastic, whether it’s 720p, 1080i or 1080p. The King Kong disc is presented with a sharpness and vibrancy that some dedicated DVD players struggle to muster. Detail-heavy shots are pin-sharp, colour reproduction is fiery and the lack of noise is testament to some excellent internal picture processing.
