Some pretty big news just popped into my email this morning.
Sky have today confirmed that they will launch Sky 3D, Europe’s very first 3D TV channel, with the Manchester United and Chelsea Barclays Premier League match on Saturday 3rd of April!
Apparently over a thousand pubs have already signed up for Sky 3D, but it’s not all about pubs. With the official launch coming very soon the Sky 3D channel will be available at no extra cost to residential customers with the HD pack and Sky’s top channels.
Sky also say that the Sky 3D channel will appear on the Sky EPG before April 3rd, and that customers can call sky with details of their 3D HDTV to activate the channel to view preview content!
Sky 3D is compatible with all new 3D TVs and works with both “active” and “passive” 3D formats.
Brian Lenz, Sky’s Director of Product Design and TV Product Development, said: “It’s fitting that one of the biggest games of the season will be the launch pad for our pioneering Sky 3D service. With 3D, seeing really is believing, so it’s great news that over a thousand pubs across country will be able to show the magic of 3D to their customers.”
Sky will show a further five Premier League game, and later in the year will offer a range of movies, documentaries, sports and entertainment.
So if you own Sky+ HD and are lucky enough to have a 3D TV, you can get Sky 3D very soon at no extra cost!
