Dell XPS One 24

Dell have just announced their brand new Dell XPS One 24 all in one, computer / display.  They have updated the design to make it a lot sleeker, and added a bunch of improvements.  The Dell XPS One 24, as you might have guessed from the name, has a large 24-inch widescreen display, with a 1900×1200 pixel resolution.  This resolution screen, along with an Optional Blu-ray Disc drive is the reason it’s being posted on this site. HD Netflix Streaming: Xbox 360 First

Netflix streaming is currently available on a few devices such as the Roku, LG BD300 blu-ray player, and more recently on Samsung’s P2500 / P2550 Blu-ray players. But none of these currently offer HD netflix streaming, not even the official netflix “watch instantly” portal. Read more

LED Groups, The New Resolution?

LCD HDTV have always come second to plasma HDTVs when it comes to black levels and contrast ratios, especially against the all mighty Pioneer Kuro’s.

A fairly recent addition to LCD HDTVs is LED backlighting, which used individual LEDs rather than a standard, solid CCFL light.  These LEDs are arranged into groups, and each group can be individually dimmed or brightened, depending on what is currently being displayed on the LCD. Read more

Sky+ HD Price Reduction

From tomorrow (1st July), Sky will be re-branding their Sky HD service to “Sky+ HD“, and reducing the price significantly. I believe the name change has been done to avoid confusion with people thinking that Sky HD does not include the recording and pausing features as offered by the Sky+ service. Read more
