VUDU Comes To LG LH50 & PS80 HDTVs

VUDU LG50VUDU’s streaming movie service has just signed a deal with LG, with will bring their movie on demand video service direct to some LG HDTVs.

They have removed the need for the set top box, and can now deliver streaming content directly to the netflix friendly LG LG50 and PS80 line of HDTVs.

VUDU say that their streaming movie service transforms HDTVs into movie-on-demand video stores. VUDU’s service is tried and tested, and delivers true HD streaming to the LG 42LH50, 47LH50, and the LG 50PS80, 60PS80 HDTVs.

It will enables owners of these sets to buy or rent HD and HDX (1080p) movies on demand through a newly designed user interface, which VUDU says is fast and stutter and buffer free.

The new VUDU services also provides instant fast forward and rewind features along with instant start for all movies. There is no monthly free for the service, and it will be made available to everyone from next month.

We are quite sure that LG won’t be the only HDTV manufacturer to add this feature, as more and more HDTVs on the market are “Internet connected”.
