LG 42LH50The LG 42LH50 is the smaller of two LCD HDTVs from the LG LH50 series, the larger being the 47-inch LG 47LH50.

The 42-inch 42L50 is the first model to offer built in Netflix streaming, which allows instant access to thousands of TV shows and movies, without the need for an external set top box.

There are many “Internet Connected” HDTV flooding the market, the the LG 42LH50 is by far the most advanced. Along with the NetFlix streaming, it also supports Yahoo Widgets, which deliver live news and information to the HDTV while watching the TV. A special YouTube client and home network streaming is also supported.

Specification wise the LG 42LH50 a 1080p HD LCD resolution, with 10-bit color processing for smooth color gradients, fast 2.7 ms response time and 120Hz processing. It also features four speakers with SRS TruSurround XT and built in Dolby Digital decoding.

VUDU have just announced the LG 42LH50 as one of the first HDTV to support their movie streaming service without the need of a settop box. Cnet reviewed the LG 42LH50 and gave it a “very good” rating, and said it has accurate color with extensive picture controls, including a unique Picture Wizard along with solid connectivity and four HDMI and one PC input. It is also very energy efficient.
