We have seen a couple of LCDs (monitors) designed primarily for computers but are just at home being used as a HDTV, either through featuring a built in TV tuner, or by having the appropriate inputs. NEC’s new line of AccuSync LCDs WMGX series feature the normal DVI / VGA inputs, but also component and HDMI inputs with full HDCP support for use with encoded content such as Blu-ray and HD DVD players and also the next generation of games consoles.
The HDMI input feeds digital video and audio data to the LCDs and features six presets for gaming and movie modes. The new AccuSync LCDs consist of the 19-inch NEC LCD19WMGX, 22-inch LCD22WMGX, and the largest, 24-inch LCD24WMCX.
he 19 and 22-inch models have a 1680 x 1050 pixel resolution, while the largest 24-inch NEC LCD24WMCX has a full HD 1080p (1920×1080 pixel) resolution perfect for use as a HDTV. All the screens are very quick with a fast 5ms response time for clear, vivid and no motion blur, along with a dynamic contrast ratio of 1,000:1 for the 19-incher, and 2,000:1 for the 22, and 24-inch AccuSync.
