Hitachi is anticipating to be a hot topic at this years CES with it’s latest HDTV line up, the Hitachi Ultra Thin 1.5 line. Available in 2008, Hitachi will release the worlds first “Ultra Thin Displays”, after hinting “1.5 Is coming” the new lineup of LCD HDTVs are, as the name hints, just 1.5-inches thick, or thin.
It is unclear if the new Ultra thin LCD HDTVs are to be known as simply “Hitachi 1.5“, or “Hitachi Ultra Thin 1.5“, but the new HDTVs consist of thee different series models, each available in three different sizes, from 32-inch to 42-inch for a total of nine new HDTVs.
Available as the Hitachi Director’s Series, UltraVision V Series or the UltraVision S Series, all in either 32-inch, 37-inch or 42-inch sizes. We have seen these HDTVs in Japan and the Wooo name, and they have received a lot of attention, so we can be sure these will be a hit for America at CES.
The 37-inch and 42-inch models all have a 1080p resolution LCD panel with 120Hz refresh rates to eliminate judder and motion blur. The 32-inch director series Hitachi UT32X802 will be available in the first quarter of this year, while the other eight will be available in the second quarter this year.
These HDTVs look great, and are of course very thin, but one downside to this thinness is the lack of inputs, as the Director and V series also offer 1x HDMI 1.3 and VGA input, while the Hitachi S series offer a healthy 3x HDMI 1.3 inputs and 2x component.
