Toshiba HD-A3, HD-A30, HD-A35
Toshiba have announced their third generation of HD DVD players which add to the very impressive and popular HD-A2 range of players. Their latest third generation of players come in three versions, the Toshiba HD-A3, HD-A30 and the HD-A35.
This time around their top of the line player, the Toshiba HD-A35 will cost $499, which is $300 less their their previous generation top of the line player.
The bottom of the line HD-A3 supports 720p/1080i HD output formats while the more expensive HD-A30 and HD-A35 provide 1080p HD (Full HD) including 24p (1080p/24fps) to output at 24 frames per second, the rate at which movie fills are recorded at, for optimal playback.
Also added to the third generation of players is CE-Link (HDMI-CEC) which enables your home theater devices to communicate with each other in a new way, for example “One Touch Play” will enable you to turn on a CEC capable HDTV and the HD DVD player and start playing the movie with a single button press from one remote.
Toshiba HD-A35
The top of the line Toshiba HD-A35 also adds additional support for Deep Color via HDMI allowing the player to deliver amazing video quality with billion of possible colors, and also offers 5.1 channel analog output and High Bit Rate Audio (up to 7.1 channel) via HDMI in bit stream format, bypassing the internal player’s audio processor.
