The Hitachi DZ-BD10HA HD camcorder can record to three formats, by adding the ability to record directly to blu-ray discs. The Hitachi DZ-BD10HA full HD / 1080p (1920×1080 pixels) camcorder features a 7-megapixel CMOS sensor and can record to a 30GB hard drive, SDHC cards, and blu-ray discs. As well as having a great selection of storage options to record to, the DZ-BD10HA also has the ability to, at the push of a button, dub/copy the video from the hard drive or SDHC directly to Blu-ray, eliminating the need to use a computer.
The internal hard drive of the Hitachi DZBD10HA allows for upto 4 hours and 20mins of Full HD (1920x1080pixels) of video of 8 hours and 40mins of 1440×1080 video. As well as recording and copying to blu-ray discs, you can also perform a number of editing functions and also transcode the HD videos to a standard DVD, all directly on the Hitachi DZ-BD10HA. So if using a computer for copying, editing and burning HD video is not your kind of thing the DZ-BD10HA can do it all for you, and of course, still retains it ability to copy all data to a PC.
The new Hitachi DZ-BD10HA is also 20% smaller than the model it replaces, and uses less power, providing longer usage and silent operation. Other features include the ability to take still digital photos, optical image stabilization and face detection to automatically focus on faces.
Expect to see the DZ-BD10HA for around $999 when it lauches in the US in September.
