Sharp have been a blu-ray supporter since the very beginning and have improved their players along the way. The new Sharp BD-HP21H blu-ray player is being claimed as their “first cinema quality Blu-ray player”, and being able to produce detailed, colorful and vibrant pictures. The BD-HP21H supported 24Hz (24 frames per second) output, which is the same rate used for filming the original footage and as encoded on the blu-ray disc. 24p enables the correct frame rate as intended by the directors, providing a smoothly rendered and judder free playback.
Full 1080p / 24p output is supported via HDMI along with xvYCC/Deep Color for the best quality output. Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD High Resolution and Master Audio decoding and bitstreaming is also supported. The Sharp BD-HP21H is fully profile 1.1 compatible with Bonusview support to take advantage of picture-in-picture and more interactive viewing.
The BD-HP21H also features a quick-start mode which is designed to reduce power consumption, and a Jpeg photo playback feature to view your images in HD quality. The Sharp BD-HP21H has a great looking designed and finish which will match the current HDTV styling. Expect to see the BD-HP21H in October 08.
