Denon DVD-3800BDCI

DVD-3800BDCIDenon has announced their first Blu-ray player the Denon DVD-3800BDCI, which includes a whole bunch of advanced features, but also a huge price tag of $1,999. While many of you have probably already been put off, I will tell you more.Firstly, why did they name the player DVD-something, are they trying to confuse us? The DVD-3800BDCI will launch this fall as the first 1.1 Blu-ray profile player we know of (which supports the ability to view separate picture-in-picture audio and video streams), and the first to include Silicon Optix’s 10-bit Realta HQV video processor.

Strangely enough, after asking for $2,000 from you, they have not included an Ethernet port, so any online content you might wish to play / view, will be have to downloaded via PC and then brought to the DVD-3800BDCI via a SD card.

Internal decoding of all Blu-ray surround sound formats are featured, and it’s the first player with HDMI 1.3a output providing a ton of bandwidth to pass sound natively to an external receiver for decoding.
